Microneedling & Microdermabrasion

Dermabrasion and microdermabrasion are two cosmetic procedures which can revitalize your skin, and give you a youthful, glowing appearance. They are non-invasive treatments which can also address skin imperfections like age spots, minor scars, and fine wrinkles. During the dermabrasion procedure, the plastic surgeon uses a special instrument to “sand” your skin. During the microdermabrasion procedure, small exfoliating crystals are used to eliminate dull skin, age and brown spots.

Benefits of Dermabrasion & Microdermabrasion

Dermabrasion and microdermabrasion can successfully treat the irregularities and imperfections of the skin. Here are some well-known benefits of these cosmetic procedures:

  • Flattening out elevated or depressing scars
  • Creating healthier, younger, and more attractive new skin
  • The blood circulation in the treated skin will be improved, resulting in a rosy glow
  • Reducing deeply pitted scars and acne scars
  • Increased confidence and self esteem

About The Procedure

During the microdermabrasion treatments, the surgeon will use a handheld, small device to spray tiny crystals on the patient’s skin. The crystals exfoliate dead skin cells and remove dust, dirt, and debris. A new skin layer will grow into place. The new skin cells will be healthier and without flaws like discoloration.

The dermabrasion procedure usually takes 1 hour to complete. The surgeon will discuss with the patient which type of anesthesia is most suitable. Before the procedure, patients should thoroughly wash the area receiving the dermabrasion with soap and water. After the dermabrasion procedure, the surgeon will apply a thin layer of antibiotic cream on the treated skin area.
